Two prices, side by side
What you paid the supplier, small. What you sell at, big. The profit is worked out for you — and flagged if you ever sell below cost.
For hardware, electrical & plumbing shops
Tarifa keeps what you paid and what you sell at for every item in the shop — with a photo, a category and its unit — on one phone. Search in Tamil or English and the answer is on screen before the customer finishes asking.
01 — What it does
What you paid the supplier, small. What you sell at, big. The profit is worked out for you — and flagged if you ever sell below cost.
Snap the item and Tarifa cuts it to a clean square and shrinks it to a few kilobytes. Every item looks the same in the list.
“kuzhai”, “pipe” or குழாய் — search finds the item from Tamil, English, or Tamil typed in English letters.
Per piece, metre, feet, coil, kg, box or roll — wire, pipe and nails each keep their own unit. Categories keep a thousand items tidy.
A 4-digit PIN every time the app opens, and it locks itself when the phone is put away. Five wrong PINs and it waits.
Each price change is kept with its date. No internet? The saved price book still opens, so the counter never stops.
02 — How it works
Tap + and point the camera at the item. The photo is squared and saved.
+ அழுத்தி படம் எடுங்கள்.
Type the name in Tamil or English, the price you bought at and the price you sell at.
வாங்கிய விலை, விற்கும் விலை.
When a customer asks, search — both prices are on screen in a second.
தேடுங்கள் — உடனே விலை.

03 — Built with
A hand-built interface in the Crayont design system, in Tamil and English, light and dark.
Runs at the edge close to the shop, so a search or a save takes a fraction of a second.
SQLite with prices kept in paise, photos alongside, and point-in-time restore built in.
Camera photos are squared and turned into WebP on the phone — a few dozen kilobytes each.
A native shell with one-tap in-app updates. Screen changes arrive without reinstalling.
PINs are salted and peppered on the server, with lockout after wrong tries and auto-lock.
04 — Made by Crayont
Tarifa started with one hardware shop and a notebook of rates only the owner could read. Crayont designed it, engineered it and shipped it — app, server and Android. It sits next to Fatura, our Tamil billing app. Bring us the problem in your business; we build the product that solves it, properly.
05 — Your turn
Tell us about your business and what’s slowing it down. We’ll get back to you on WhatsApp or email — your choice.
